Business Ajrakh border
A slim Ajrakh border of block-printed flowers in madder red and indigo around a wide off-white field: a restrained design, close to a letterhead. It suits clinics, offices and professional firms that want a festive touch without much decoration.

Making it yours
Because the border is so thin, the text field is the largest of any design, about seven-tenths of the square post in both directions, with room for a logo, a two-line thank-you and an offer. The text can be Kumkum red or Indigo, matching the two dyes. Set it in the Modern font for a clean, corporate look.
About the craft: Ajrakh
Ajrakh is slow work. The cotton is washed and softened, printed with a resist paste, dyed in indigo, printed again and dyed in madder, often over two weeks and more than a dozen stages; in Kutch, printing families who resettled after the 2001 earthquake named their new village Ajrakhpur. The patterns are strict and repeating, which suits a narrow border. This design uses only a thin band of it, red and indigo, around a wide plain field.
