Diwali Milan poster
A deep maroon poster with three geometric akash kandil lanterns hanging at the top and one large diya on a stepped base at the bottom, printed in marigold and ivory. The plain maroon middle holds your words in large, clear type, which suits a Diwali Milan with a short, warm message and the date, time and venue.

Making it yours
Your words sit in the maroon band between the lanterns and the diya, about two-fifths of the card's height, so a short message reads best. There are two text colours, Marigold and Ivory white, and a small diya heads the text. A round family photo, edged in the accent colour, can go above the title.
About the craft: Mid-century screen print
Screen printing pushes ink through a fine mesh stencil, one flat colour at a time. Posters from the middle of the twentieth century used it for a bold, simple look: a few strong inks, geometric shapes and a slight shift where two colours meet. This design follows that poster style, with flat lanterns and diyas and a large plain area that keeps your words easy to read.
