Gond Diwali night
A Diwali night in deep indigo: patterned branches with birds and a crescent moon across the top, and two peacocks facing each other between deer and small diyas at the bottom. The dark sky makes light text glow, which suits an evening party.

The text has the open night sky between the branches and the peacocks, a little over a third of the card's height, so it works best with a short message. Three colours stand out on the indigo: Marigold, Ivory white and Lotus pink. The Shree Ganesh line at the top can be changed, or removed for a plainer card.
About the craft: Gond
Gond painting comes from the Gond communities of central India, especially Madhya Pradesh. Artists fill animals, birds and trees with patterns of dots, dashes and fine lines in bright colours, so every shape seems to move. Since the 1980s Gond artists have painted on paper and canvas as well as on walls. This design uses that style for a Diwali night: patterned birds, a tree and peacocks on a deep indigo ground.
