Kantha Diwali
Soft off-white cotton with a stitched border of lotuses, fish, paisleys and small diyas in red, marigold and indigo thread, the small running stitches left visible. It feels homely and personal, a good fit for a greeting from the whole family.

Making it yours
The plain cotton inside the stitching is one of the largest text areas among the greetings, about two-thirds of the card's height, so a longer personal note fits. Thread colours carry over to the text: Kumkum red, Indigo or Maroon. Add a family photo above the title; it gets a round frame in the same colour.
About the craft: Kantha
Kantha is the running-stitch embroidery of Bengal. Women traditionally layered old saris and stitched them together into light quilts and wraps, filling the cloth with fish, lotuses, paisleys and lamps in coloured thread. This design shows that stitched look around the border, on soft off-white cotton.
