Chikankari Diwali
Ivory muslin with white Chikankari embroidery of paisleys and lattice work, lifted by small diyas in marigold thread. Quiet and elegant, it suits formal wishes to colleagues or elders.

Making it yours
Inside the embroidered frame the muslin is left open for two-thirds of the card's height, the roomiest of the greeting designs. Maroon, Peacock blue or Dark brown keep the text as calm as the white-on-white work. The Traditional font gives a formal letter feel; a photo is best left out here.
About the craft: Chikankari
Chikankari is the hand embroidery of Lucknow, traditionally white thread on fine white cotton or muslin. Its many small stitches form flowers, leaves and lattices, some of them worked from the back of the cloth so they show through like shadows. This design brings that quiet white-on-white work to a Diwali greeting, with paisleys and small diyas in the border.
