Pichwai lotus pond

A lotus pond on deep bottle green: pink and white lotuses, round leaves, swans and fish fill the bottom, and a garland of lotus buds and leaves hangs across the top. Calm and devotional, it suits an evening puja and aarti.

Making it yours

Your text floats on the plain green between the garland and the pond, just under half the card's height. The lotus colours carry into the text: Lotus pink, Marigold or Ivory white. A family photo sits in a round frame above the title, and the Traditional font keeps the temple-cloth feel.

About the craft: Pichwai

Pichwai paintings come from Nathdwara in Rajasthan, where large painted cloths hang behind the image of Shrinathji in the temple and change with the seasons and festivals. A favourite theme is the lotus pond, kamal talai: dense pink and white lotuses, round green leaves, fish and water birds. This design uses that lotus pond on a deep green ground, with a garland of lotus buds above.
