Gold foil lotus and coins
A lotus in gold-foil line art on deep plum, its petals drawn with fine veins and open around a small stack of gold coins, with a little diya just below and gold dots around. The coins are what many families buy and worship on Dhanteras, and the lotus is Lakshmi's flower, so this makes a rich but simple Dhanteras wish for family, friends and clients.

Making it yours
Under the diya the plum ground is open for about half the card's height: enough for a Dhanteras wish, a line about health and prosperity, and your name. Gold foil echoes the coins, Ivory white is the plainest to read, and Gold keeps the title gold and the rest ivory. There is no header symbol at first, since the lotus and coins already speak of Lakshmi; her line can be switched on in the editor. The card starts in the Elegant style, which suits a short, gracious wish.
About the craft: Dhanteras coins
On Dhanteras, two days before Diwali night, buying something of metal is thought to bring good fortune, and gold and silver coins stamped with Lakshmi or Ganesh are among the favourite purchases. In the evening the new coins are placed before Lakshmi, often on a bed of flowers, and worshipped with a lamp. On the same night a lamp is lit at the door for Yama, which is called Yama deepdaan. This design draws a small stack of coins resting in an open lotus, Lakshmi's flower, with a small diya below.
